Extraordinary 58th Session: Nizhyn Lawmakers Adopt Decisions to Restore Heat Supply in the University Area

The extraordinary 58th session of the Nizhyn City Council was held. Five issues were put before the deputies. The most important of them concerned restoring heat supply for consumers previously served by LLC "KRATO-NT".

For several years, residents repeatedly complained about the poor quality of heating. The issue was considered at executive committee meetings and discussed during the formation of tariff policy. At the same time, the supplier did not take adequate measures to improve services. Therefore, the city authorities, together with residents, searched for ways out of the situation.

Now the main task is to provide heat to residents of residential buildings, university teaching buildings, a student dormitory, and the music school. To comprehensively solve the problem, Nizhyn held negotiations with German partners on obtaining three gas boiler houses with a capacity of 1 MW each. This is assistance from the Government of Germany, which will make it possible to supply heat to all these facilities. The boiler houses are planned to be placed on the basis of an existing one to which the necessary utilities are connected.

During the session, deputies considered and supported decisions necessary for the legal formalization of the transition from LLC "KRATO-NT" to another heat supply operator. In particular, they approved removing property from the balance of the KP "Rental of Municipal Property" of the Nizhyn City Council, transferring it to the balance of the Department of Housing and Communal Services and Construction, including it in an integral property complex, and transferring it for lease to LLC "NizhynTeploMerezhi". This is one of the necessary steps for restoring heat supply to consumers.

The deputies also adopted a decision on compensating in 2026 the difference in tariffs for centralized heat supply and hot water services, and made changes to the budget of the Nizhyn city territorial community.

Special attention was paid to supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Within the session, a decision was adopted on transferring to the military an unmanned aerial system "STICK M-12".

Each of the adopted decisions has practical significance for the community.
